Disband IPDN!!!

Lately, two topics filled up all the news headline in Indonesia: IPDN case and Virginia Tech case. Well I have comments for the IPDN case. Both of the case above involving victims (killed! murdered!). The difference is, the murder in the IPDN is a LEGALIZED murder! Though in this case only one victim involved, but the practice of violence in IPDN (Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri/Institute for Public Administration) itself has occured since a long time ago. Since 1990, up to 37 of its students have died (another source says it’s 46), so this is not the first time. However, one of its alumnus (in a Friendster testimonial) said in bahasa, “Just because of 37 students’ death, our school has to be closed? I’m not agree!” What the….??? The word “JUST” itself has already showed us how brutal this institute is. IMHO from my point of view, this guy is CRAZY.

FYI [OOT], recently the FAA made a press release about lowering safety rating for Indonesia, which means then: US warns citizens against flying on Indonesian airlines. Why? Because there were THREE U.S. citizens flying on Indonesia’s airline Adam Air, which were missing. Three, but it’s already enough for a country to ban its citizen flying ANOTHER COUNTRY’s airlines. Because human life is NOT negotiable. How come those IPDN alumnus said “JUST”?? What if I say, “Just because of a few airplane crash, doesn’t mean we have to be more serious about flight safety”? Or “Thousands of flight have been successfully made by Adam Air, so a few plane crash won’t matter. Coz the ratio is small, ya know?” Is it OK to say that? No, it’s NOT OK. It’s NUTS. IPDN alumnus has been brainwashed by the corrupted education system. They’re so shallow-minded, yet they are the ones who will hold the government’s position in the future… now THAT’s what I call SCARY!

One testimonial from IPDN’s ex-student can be read here in PintuNet, which claims to be stating the real IPDN condition. But it’s written under “college in DKI Jakarta”, whilst IPDN is in West Java, so I don’t have any comment about its truthfulness.

The government (president) itself has been urged by many (one of them is Aksa Mahmud, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR)) to disband IPDN (read it in TempoInteractive here). Yet…, … (I don’t have to continue this sentence, since most of you reading this should already know how Indonesia’s government is).

According to Kombor’s report, IPDN’s Friendster profile is now restricted, its view is limited to direct friends only. Wanna know why? Well I guess it’s not about shame. More likely it’s about them, who want to hide the truth, that all they know is justifying their wrongdoings, cover up the true story, and pay no respect of human’s life.

Therefore, I signed the petition asking president of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, to disband IPDN.
The petition itself was created by ‘Anto’ (see his blog here). My signature number is 547. I signed only once because I want the petition to be clean, no duplicate voters. Should you share the same aspiration as me, then sign the petition, click the banner:

Firefox in Firefox

I was blogwalking this morning, and unusually, I got interested with the “Today’s Hot Posts”, this one here by a Sri Lankan blogger which shows us that by manipulating Firefox (which coded in Java, and XUL-enabled) we can get something different, something that can’t be done by IE. One of it is creating a Firefox inside Firefox. Try typing chrome://browser/content/browser.xul in your Firefox’s address bar and press enter, then you’ll see another Firefox inside your Firefox!

Firefox in Firefox in Firefox in Firefox in Firefox

Using this trick, you can group the sites that you’re visiting based on its category. The other way to group sites is by creating a new window for each category, but creating new window will takes up more space in your taskbar and/or system tray (assuming you are also opening Ms.Word, WinExplorer, Thunderbird, Yahoo! Messenger, WL Messenger, Winamp, etc) which is the most valuable space for users who tend to open many applications at the same time.

But as everything has its compensation (Remembering the Full Metal Alchemist’s main rule: equivalent trade), which is:
- Opening Firefox in Firefox may take up more memory (PF usage) and CPU usage. Though I don’t see any signficant increase on the usage, but some user have reported this happens on their computer, which might even causes hangs.
- For some websites such as Yahoo! Mail, you can’t open it in the inner Firefox (probably due to Y!Mail’s new feature, Password Theft Prevention). Should you try opening it, the inner Firefox will be zapped, replaced by Yahoo! Mail’s main page.
- In the inner Firefox, you can’t do double-clicks to create new tab, coz the new tab will also be created in the outer Firefox. You can only hit Ctrl+T or right click -> New tab.
- If you want to create another inner Firefox in the inner Firefox (Firefox in Firefox in Firefox), you can do it only by hitting “enter” after typing/pasting chrome://browser/content/browser.xul because clicking Go button (the green thing on the right of address bar) will just reload itself which means closing the other tab in that inner Firefox.

Wondering why it has so many flaw? Because this feature actually doesn’t exist in Firefox. This “abnormality” happens because unlike IE, Firefox is a XUL-enabled browser. The easter egg from the programmers was about:mozilla (if you haven’t heard about this before, you should try typing about:mozilla in the Firefox’s address bar, press enter, and see what happens) and probably about:config (to configure Firefox’s behavior) is also an easter egg? Dunno.

And (this one is OOT), because the blog got so many hits and comments because of that post, the owner of the blog seems to get so fired up (obsessed? hehehe) to create another post that may become famous too. And one of it is this one which quite interesting of an information, that there are some directories in the websites that the owner don’t want the general public to know about, and to exclude it from the search engines’ indexing and search results (because this could be where the valuable informations kept!), which rule is saved in robots.txt. For example, it you want to know what is being hidden in the Google’s website, just open http://www.google.com/robots.txt, and if you want to know what the CIA website is hiding from you, try https://www.cia.gov/robots.txt (it is normal to visit CIA website in https/secure http, because it says it wants to assure its visitor’s confidentiality). However, I can’t open FBI’s robots (http://www.fbi.gov/robots.txt) because it says “Not Found: The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it.” Hmm…. the server has been instructed not to let ME have it? Oh well, FBI always one step ahead.. or probably it just simply doesn’t have robots in its website hehehe…

How Sweeeet…

“how sweeeeeet!!” seraya mengacu pada sebuah motor.

Gw pun langsung memutarbalikkan badan, and there it is, a very girly motorcycle.

2007 04 05

Definitely not flowers. But, in any case, I give an applause for the owner of this motorcycle for her (his?) courage in expressing her fondness of flower. ;)
