The Nature is Raging

Have you paid attention about nature’s behavior lately? I guess most of you don’t. Well, you better do. The nature has become more and more hostile every day. And it’s all because of human’s mistakes (read: OUR fault~~ except you are no human). It’s just pathetic to see how people become more and more egocentric everyday. They lack of attention, consideration and forethought towards others and their environment. They build homes and buildings without environmental consideration (eliminates water absorption to the ground), cut down forests, etc disturbing the nature’s balance, and in the end it just creates problems for human itself. Don’t believe me? Here are the news for the past TWO-THREE DAYS only.

43 Orang Tewas Tersambar Petir di China Timur (28.06.07 22:36)

Banjir di Inggris Semakin Meluas (28.06.07 22:01)

Banjir Landa Australia Tenggara (28.06.07 19:13)

Hujan Seharian, Sungai Ciliwung Meluap (28.06.07 18:50)

Ratusan Rumah di Klungkung Terendam Banjir (28.06.07 18:04)

Perumahan Ciledug I Terendam (28.06.07 17:02)

Cuaca Buruk, 37 Tewas Tersambar Petir (27.06.07 16:09)

(I put all these articles in a document here, just in case the article is deleted from the original website).

Those are just a few cases, which happens all around the world because of global warming, and tiny water absorption area. What will you do about it? Nothing? Then the end of the world is not so far away. Which means, it’s the end of you and your loved ones’ life on earth. (Still don’t care about it? I wonder if you actually have a life. I think you should get a life first).

You might think, that you can’t do anything about it. Guess what? You still HAVE TO do something. If you’re not going forward, then it means you are going backward. There’s no ‘idle’ state here. You can start even by the smallest things. I’m sure you understand what this means:

Put Your Trash in Trash Bin

I’m sure you understand it. Then DON’T PUT AWAY YOUR TRASH TO THE ROADS, RIVERS, ETC. PUT IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE, WILL YA?

Recycle

Don’t burn your recyclable trash. It can still be more useful than just creating smoke (and add air pollution), ya know?

There’s still so many things you could do to participate. Find it out. Save the environment, save the world! (Ah, copying ‘Heroes’…)

Care towards the nature, environment. The world.

Michael Jackson – Heal The World

(Spoken)
Think about.. um.. the generations and to say we want to make it a better place
for our children and our children’s children,
so that they.. they.. they know it’s a better world for them;
and think if they can make it a better place.

There’s a place in your heart, and I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try you’ll find there’s no need to cry
In this place you’ll feel there’s no hurt or sorrow
There are ways to get there if you care enough for the living
Make a little space, make a better place

Chorus:
Heal the world, make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying, if you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

If you want to know why there’s a love that cannot lie
Love is strong; it only cares for joyful giving
If we try we shall see in this bliss we cannot feel fear or dread
We stop existing and start living
Then it feels that always, love’s enough for us growing
Make a better world, make a better world

(Chorus)

Bridge:
And the dream we would conceived in will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life, wound this earth, crucify it’s soul?
Though it’s plain to see, this world is heavenly be God’s glow

We could fly so high, let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear, together we’ll cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into ploughshares
We could really get there, if you cared enough for the living
Make a little space, to make a better place

(Chorus)

Care towards others…

Nickelback – If Everyone Cared

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you’d be mine
But here we are, we’re here tonight

Singing Amen, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I’m alive

[Chorus]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died

And I’m singing

Amen I, I’m alive
Amen I, I’m alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We’ll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen I’m alive
Singing Amen I’m alive

(Chorus 2x)

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died

We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day when nobody died

Unique URL Locations

A few days ago I was surfing the net, mainly local sites (coz it’s much faster here), and somehow I see this Ah Beng’s Favorite Links page where it has the link to the Singapore Infomap website. Singapore Infomap’s site is so short that I began to question what is the shortest website and the longest one. So as usual, I asked Mr.Google and found this Snopes message board where people shared their ‘experience’ in visiting or searching unique websites. Here are some that I found particularly interesting.

The longest URL names

Untitled vs. Life Is Good

A few days ago (June 22, 2007) my friend Andi Wijaya (his blog here) asked me if I have a record of ‘Life Is Good’ song, by Nathan Hartono. At first I thought he was fooling me around, since I really lack the knowledge of local artist. Besides, ‘Nathan Hartono’ sounds just too.. eccentric. “Nathan” or “Nathaniel” is derived from English language, while “Hartono” is a Malayan name. Then Andi told me that he has an album titled ‘Life, Love & All That Jazz’. Noticing the word ‘jazz’, I became more interested to get more info about this jazz-singer-guy. Somehow, Andi and I got the download link for the song, so I downloaded it too (it was ‘painful’ though; I’m already at my quota for this month).

I listened to the song, it really was one good song. Very nice to hear, he has great vocal. But something bothers me: it sounds like the melodies I’ve heard before. Then I tried to type its lyric:

Artist: Nathan Hartono
Title: Life Is Good
Album: Let Me Sing! Life, Love & All That Jazz

I was there
When the sun wasn’t shining
When the pain was blinding you
With those tears and fears

Never give in
To sadness that surrounds you
Find a way to reach deep inside
And just let your love shine through

Coz tomorrow is just a little step away
I’ll be there to help you start believe in love again
Tell me that you’re waiting
Waiting for that happiness

Is there an easier way into your heart
Must be some ways where we can make a start
I am for real
And I’m just a step away

And when you leave the painful past behind
You’ll see the world with a different state of mind
I will be there
I’m waiting to see your smile

Coz tomorrow is just a little step away
I’ll be there to help you start believe in love again
Tell me that you’re waiting
Waiting for that happiness

Please see the light
Our hearts take flight

To tomorrow, is just a little step away
We’ll be there, as long as you believe in love again

Why must we still be waiting
Oh please don’t keep me waiting
Coz I know that we’re waiting
Waiting for that happiness

Don’t walk away
Just take a look
Soon you will find
Life’s really good

Compared to the song I’ve heard before, which I googled, turned out to be Maliq n d’Essentials’

Artist: Maliq & d’Essentials
Title: Untitled

Bilakah ku mengganggu harimu
Mungkin kau tak inginkan adaku
Akankah ku sedikit di hatimu?

Bila memang ku yang harus mengerti
Mengapa cintamu tak dapat kumiliki?
Salahkahku bila kaulah yang ada di hatiku?

Kau yang ada
di hatiku

Bila cinta kita takkan tercipta
Kuhanya sekedar ingin tuk mengerti
Adakah diriku singgah di hatimu?
Dan bilakah kau tahu, kaulah yang ada di hatiku?

Kau yang ada
dihatiku
Adakahku
di hatimu?

Man, the chords and melodies are so similar! I wondered if anyone had noticed it before. As usual, the-handy-Google take a role again; I found this article (blog) Her Beautiful Crime with Life Is Good’s lyric AND a note:

OT: Untitled by Widi Puradiredja

Yeah, I guess you already know who Widi is. ‘OT’, I assume it as ‘Original Text’, ‘Original Translation’, or whatever.. which means it is (probably) legal. Uh… this is actually ‘a happy ending’, but somehow I just don’t feel satisfied.. was it because I watch Hollywood movies that pumps adrenaline too much? :P
I know that this is an uninteresting story, but still I post it just to prevent someone being confused like me, and I want to keep those lyrics online so I can access it anywhere coz I start to like it more hehehe… :P

– Update –
Oops. Nathan himself actually post a comment in my blog (see below). I was thinking “Impossible. Artists are too busy to enter virtual world” when I landed on this blog… he even has his own blog -.-’

I did some re-check, I asked my friend Elsa (she’s an Indonesian studying in Singapore) and I got these infos:

- “Nob. He’s a jazz singer, but has nothing to do with Singapore Idol
Ah. *blush* So I spread the wrong information. Sorry for that, everyone. But thanks to it, I now have a comment from a famous kid hehehe.

- “If I’m not mistaken, he’s an Indonesian-Singapore
Uh? Does he understand or speak in bahasa?

- “ganteng booo
Mattaku. Dasar cewek. Liat yang bening dikit aja, langsung kelilipan. Apalagi masih muda kayak Nathan. Semoga dia ga ngerti bahasa Indonesia, bisa besar kepala nih.

I also delete the download link for the song (since the owner was here… shame on me if I keep it here)… so if you’re looking for it, try googling again, it’s not here :D

In any case, I did ask Andi about his false info, and he just lightly replied “hehehe…”
So he really did got me, uh?
